Speaker queue

Record raised hands and call one speaker at a time.

How to use

A host records raised hands for 8–30 seats on one device, calls speakers in order, cancels waiting places and undoes the last action. See the current speaker, next person and waiting list for a workshop or book club. The tool does not detect who raised a hand first.

Start in three steps

  1. Set up 8–30 fixed seats with optional nicknames of up to 40 Unicode code points. Nicknames may be blank or shared; seats and nicknames stay fixed for the session.
  2. Tap seats in the order people raise their hands, then call the next speaker. A current speaker or someone already waiting cannot join again.
  3. Finish a turn before calling the next speaker. Cancel a waiting place or fully undo the last accepted action. Someone who has finished may join the end again.

Storage and limitations

Seats, nicknames, the current speaker, the queue and one undo snapshot stay in page memory only. They are not sent to a server or written to persistent storage. Leaving, refreshing or page eviction clears them. Resetting requires confirmation. There is no networking, timer, recording or guarantee of equal speaking turns.

Frequently asked questions

Do matching nicknames identify the same person?

No. Fixed seat numbers identify people. Nicknames may be shared or blank, and the host must still check who actually raised a hand.

What does undo restore?

Undo restores the current speaker and complete waiting order from before the last accepted join, cancellation or call. Only one step is stored. After undoing it, there is no earlier undo or redo.

Can participants raise hands from their own phones?

This version is for a host on one device. It has no remote hand raising or automatic ordering. Leaving the tool or refreshing clears its data. It does not guarantee equal speaking turns.
