Text version differences: Line by line comparison of the contents and revision records of the two versions: purpose and instructions

Paste two versions of the notice or process text, list the same, new and deleted content line by line, and retain the line numbers on both sides and the complete original text. You can copy the complete report or download UTF-8 TXT; only line breaks are unified, and the remaining blanks, capitalization and Unicode representation are strictly compared. The content is only processed on this browser page and will not be saved or transmitted.

How to use

  1. Paste the original and new text respectively, and you can leave one side blank. Each copy has a maximum limit of 100,000 Unicode code points and 1,000 lines, calculated based on the text in the input box; the browser will first wrap the lines uniformly.
  2. Check the same, new and deleted statistics, and view the line-by-line content according to the line numbers on both sides; replacement and rearrangement are represented by deletions and new additions.
  3. After confirmation, copy the complete report or download the TXT, retaining the tags, line numbers on both sides, and the original text of each line.

Frequently asked questions

Are whitespace, case, and line breaks also considered differences?
CRLF and CR line breaks are unified to LF, otherwise they are strictly compared. Leading and trailing and internal whitespace, upper and lower case, all half-widths, leading zeros, and different Unicode representations are preserved; the last line break adds one extra blank line, and an empty string has zero lines.
How are replaced, rearranged, or duplicated rows displayed?
Keep at most the same lines in the original order. If there are multiple alignment methods, delete the original lines first. Replacement and rearrangement display deletions and additions, and do not mark moves; this tool compares line by line and does not provide word-for-word differences or legal judgments.
When the upper limit is exceeded, will only a part of it be compared?
No. Calculated based on the text in the input box, the browser will first uniformly wrap the lines. If any one exceeds 100,000 Unicode code points or 1,000 lines, the entire comparison will be rejected and the original text will be retained without partial results. If both copies are empty, the report cannot be output.
