Odd-shape search challenge

Find the one shape facing a different direction in a 4×4 grid.

How to use

Two to six people share one device and find the only cell facing a different direction in a 4×4 grid. Every game has five untimed questions with all shapes visible. The same wrong cell counts once; after five questions, see 5/5 and total misses.

Start in three steps

  1. After starting, compare the direction of 16 matching shapes together. Every question has exactly 15 facing one direction and one facing another. Shapes never hide or move.
  2. Have one person choose a cell. A wrong cell adds one total miss the first time and then locks. Choosing it again adds nothing, and you can keep searching other cells.
  3. Finding the odd shape locks the question. Continue manually to the next one. After answering question five, select View results to see 5/5 and the game's total misses.

Storage and limitations

The five-question order, odd-cell positions, locked misses and miss count stay in page memory only, with no sign-in, server transfer or persistent storage. Refreshing, leaving or page eviction clears them. Restarting requires confirmation, and cancelling keeps the complete game state. There is no timer, individual score, ranking or cross-device connection.

Frequently asked questions

Does a wrong choice change the question or count more than once?

No. A wrong cell does not change the question, directions or answer. Its first selection adds one miss, then it locks. A different unselected wrong cell adds another miss only when first selected.

Does a correct answer advance automatically?

No. After a correct answer, all 16 cells lock and show text and icon feedback. Use Next question after the first four; after question five, use View results to see 5/5 and total misses.

Can I continue after refreshing?

No. Questions and misses stay in the current page memory. Refreshing or leaving clears them and returns to the start. Restarting asks for confirmation; cancelling does not change the question, positions, locks or misses.
