WAV Volume AdjustmentUser Guide
Adjust the volume gain of the short WAV in the browser, or normalize it to -1 dBFS based on the peak value to avoid providing out-of-range clipping results. Listen first before exporting.
How to use
Import a short WAV in a supported format and check the source peaks.
Manually -24 to +12 dB or peak normalization produces new results.
Check the output peaks and listen, and export PCM16 WAV.
Formats and limits
Up to 20 MiB per bin, 120 seconds; mono/dual channel, 8–96 kHz, PCM 8/16/24/32 bit or float32 WAV.
Manual gain is rejected if it causes clipping; normalization is based on the entire peak value rather than perceived loudness, and does not provide noise reduction, compression or MP3/M4A.
Output
A new copy of the PCM16 WAV that maintains the source sample rate, channels, and duration.
Frequently asked questions
Can a silent file be normalized?
Legal all-zero messages will remain muted and will not be infinitely amplified. Peak normalization is not LUFS loudness normalization and does not guarantee that different songs sound equally loud.
