Sprite Sheet StudioUser Guide
Arrange PNG/JPG/BMP frames into regular sprite sheets in your browser. The separate Image Stitcher remains available. Features include natural sorting, animation previews, transparent PNG, background-filled JPG or true 24-bit BMP, batch ZIP exports, and portable projects containing source images.
How to use
- Choose single-group or batch mode, import frames, and reorder them by dragging or moving up/down. Frames in a group must have matching dimensions. If resizing is needed, explicitly enable it and check for distortion.
- Set the columns, output format, and file prefix. Set columns to 0 for a single row. Unused trailing cells are transparent; JPG/BMP exports composite them over the selected background color.
- Generate a sprite sheet or a ZIP of successful groups, then export the result. Export a portable project to save source images, groups, ordering, and settings in a ZIP.
Formats and limits
- Static PNG/JPG, uncompressed 24/32-bit BMP; 20 MiB per file, full job up to 100 images/100 MiB, 32 million source pixels, 20 groups. 8,192 px per side; up to 24 million pixels per output.
- Number of columns 0–100, delay per frame 10–5,000 ms, JPG quality 0.01–1. No frames or spacing added, no GIF/video export provided.
- Project version 1 uses an uncompressed ZIP (1:1) containing JSON and source images. Limits: 101 entries / 101 MiB, 100 MiB total expanded data, 20 MiB per entry, and 1 MiB JSON. Nested archives, unsafe paths, duplicate entries, and unsupported versions are rejected.
Output
PNG retains alpha; JPG and 24-bit BMP do not retain alpha and are composited with a specified background color. The batch ZIP only contains successful groups, and the project ZIP also contains original images and settings.
Frequently asked questions
Will one set of failures stop the entire batch?
No. Each group is processed independently, and the reasons are clearly displayed; successful results use group serial numbers to avoid overwriting with the same name. Cancellation clears outstanding results and the source list remains.
Will loading a broken project overwrite current work?
No. The ZIP, settings, and all source images are validated before you are asked to replace the current work. Projects include their source images and do not depend on local paths. Store exported projects carefully; they are not encrypted.
Can the website be opened completely offline?
The first visit requires downloading the public application code. After loading, tools process files locally without uploading their contents. Opening the site for the first time while offline is not guaranteed.
The file name and content are only processed in your browser and are not transmitted to the server. The original file will not be overwritten. Please export the required results before leaving the tool.
