ID Photo Cropper User Guide

Locally crop one JPG or PNG to 7:9 for Taiwan passport or national ID paper photos, personal online forms, conditional online renewal, or Household Registration uploads, then manually check head height and export a JPG.

How to use

  1. Choose one of five explicit uses and load one JPG or PNG. First review the official sources, paper or electronic submission method, and the mechanical fields listed by this tool.
  2. Drag, zoom, or rotate in 90° steps within the fixed 7:9 crop frame. Move the crown and chin guides manually to check the 32–36 mm composition cue.
  3. For electronic uses, choose 413 × 531 or 826 × 1062 px; for paper uses, keep the source-resolution crop. After generation, the tool decodes the result again to verify JPEG format, actual pixels, and bytes before download.

Formats and limits

  • Input is limited to one static JPG or PNG, up to 20 MiB, 24 million pixels, and 16,384 px per side. The crop never adds blank space, mirrors the photo, or upscales a low-resolution source and labels it compliant.
  • Electronic uses require at least 413 × 531 px, JPG/JPEG, and RGB. The product applies a conservative 5,000,000-byte cap because the official 5 MB wording does not state a decimal or binary basis. Paper sources do not specify fixed pixels, format, or bytes, so electronic fields are not applied to them.
  • The crown and chin guides, background, expression, lighting, occlusion, sharpness, photo age, and eligibility all require human review. The tool does not perform face recognition, retouching, background removal or replacement, AI generation, or acceptance decisions.

Output

Electronic uses output a re-decoded, verified JPEG at 413 × 531 or 826 × 1062 px. Paper uses output a source-resolution 7:9 JPEG crop. This version does not create a 35 × 45 mm layout PDF and does not guarantee acceptance by any authority.

Frequently asked questions

Does a displayed head height of 32–36 mm guarantee compliance?

No. You position the guides manually, and the tool only converts their proportion within the crop frame. It does not identify the actual crown or chin or check background, expression, occlusion, photo age, or eligibility.

Why is there no fixed pixel size or 5 MB limit for paper photos?

The official paper requirements describe a physical 35 × 45 mm photo and paper characteristics; they do not apply electronic-upload pixel, JPG, or file-size fields to paper. This tool only provides a source-resolution crop for later delivery or layout.
