File Hex Viewer User Guide

Read one local file page by page and inspect raw bytes as decimal offsets, HEX and ASCII.

How to use

  1. Choose one file. Each read loads only one 256-byte page.
  2. Use previous, next or a decimal offset to navigate.
  3. Copy current page HEX. Replacing, clearing or refreshing removes the data.

Formats and limits

  • Size must be representable as a JavaScript safe integer. Actual capacity and performance depend on the device and browser.
  • No editing, repair, extraction, execution, format inference, full-text search, or safety or integrity verification.

Output

Copy plain-text HEX from the current page, up to 16 bytes per row.

Frequently asked questions

How are bytes outside printable ASCII displayed?

0x20 through 0x7E show their characters; other bytes show a dot. HEX preserves the raw byte values.
